Free Plumbing & Electrical Apprenticeships Open Across West Africa: 5,000 Slots Available
A coalition of West African governments and private sector partners has announced 5,000 fully-funded apprenticeship slots across plumbing, electrical installation, and welding trades β open to applicants aged 18-30.
The West Africa Trades Skills Initiative (WATSI), backed by the African Development Bank, will provide 18-month training programmes combining theoretical classroom learning with hands-on site placements at approved construction companies.
Participants will receive a monthly stipend of GHS 800 during training and emerge with an internationally recognised certification from the City & Guilds awarding body.
How to Apply
Applications are open in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and Ivory Coast. Eligible candidates must hold a basic secondary school certificate and demonstrate physical fitness. No prior trade experience is required.
Application portals open Monday through the respective national TVET authorities in each country.
